Rhône Wine Tasting
Substance, generosity and sun-ripened fruit are the essence of Rhône wine and it is the promise of such abundance of flavor that has propelled Rhône to dizzying heights.
Domaine Lombard Les Davids 2020 Côtes du Rhône, France. The nose develops complex aromas, on orchard fruits and sillex. The palate is aromatic and round at first, then the texture of the wine appears chalky and ends with a touch of salinity which lengthens the finish. 50% Marsanne, 50 % Roussanne
Chateau des Roques Vacqueyras Cuvee du Chateau 2019 Rhône Valley, France. Elegant with notes of red and black fruits and a mix of lavender, juniper, thyme, rosemary and sage. The finish is spicier with notes of pepper. 70% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault
La Bete a Bon Dieu 2020 Camille Cayran Cotes du Rhône, France. Spicy and fruit-driven, bright, young and intense wine with notes of prune, pepper, raspberry, fig, black currant, cinnamon, chocolate and liquorice, velvety tannins and long aftertaste. 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan and 20% Syrah
Cairanne Camille Cayran Grande Reserve 2020 Rhône Valley, France. Soft, ripe black forest compote nose; nice concentration of fruit on the palate. Good weight. Really well balanced in terms of fruit, acidity and tannin; supple and silky. Lots of juicy, succulent blackberry fruit flavors.Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah. 96 Pts Decanter
Domaine Lombard Azalle 2021 Rhône Valley, France. The nose offers a cocktail of wild fruits such as wild strawberries, currants, and blueberries. All these fruits are sublimated by notes of cashew and sendal wood. We wanted the mouth of this refreshing and juicy wine where the tannins are fine and perfectly melted. 92% Syrah and 8% Viognier
