Introduction

Mullan Raod Red Blend 2014, Columbia Valley
Wine Advocate – “Made from 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and the balance Malbec, the 2014 Columbia Valley Red Wine was fermented in a mix of concrete tanks and stainless steel, and aged in 40% new French and American oak. It’s looks to be a well-made, possibly outstanding effort that has lots of jammy dark fruits (cassis and blackberry), dried underbrush and some licorice in a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated package. It should drink nicely right out of the gate. ”
91 Points – Wine Advocate

Bootleg Red Blend 2013, Napa Valley
Wine Advocate – “The 2013 Proprietary Red from Bootleg is a major sleeper of not only the vintage, but in its entire concept. There are just over 8,000 cases of this wine, which has been culled from KJ vineyards on Atlas Peak, Oakville, Mt. Veeder, Rutherford and Spring Mountain. The wine is a blend of 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petite Sirah, 21% Zinfandel, 12% Merlot, and the rest Malbec and Petit Verdot. That’s like throwing in the entire kitchen sink, but the result is a stunningly delicious, complex, big-time, sexy style of wine with a deep, opaque purple color, a beautiful nose of blackberries and blueberries, with some lavender Provençal herbs, licorice and a touch of espresso. The wine has a fabulous texture, a plush, full-bodied mouthfeel, and beautiful purity and depth. It’s something that could only be made in California, given the blend, but it is off-the-charts in terms of its hedonistic appeal. At the same time, it is complex enough to satisfy the intellectual senses as well. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. A big-time winner.”

House of Cards 2014, Napa Valley
Wine Advocate – ” The House of Cards 2014 Napa Valley Red Wine is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 9% Zinfandel and 6% Syrah. This is a real sleeper of the vintage, a delicious bistro-style red with loads of personality and character. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, plenty of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, spice, supple, velvety texture, medium body and long finish. This is something with serious flavor, intensity and character.”
89 Points – Robert Parker

Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvee 2013, Sonoma Valley
Wine Advocate -
“The outstanding 2013 Mountain Cuvée Proprietary Red, which is 80.4% Merlot, 17.4% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec, was aged ten months in a combination of new and used oak. The good news is that there were 16,000+ cases of this outstanding wine. Dense purple in color with a big beautiful nose of black cherries, cassis, chocolate and espresso roast, this opaque, full-bodied wine has gorgeous purity, a beautifully layered texture and a heady, rich finish. This is a stunner and quite a steal in the marketplace. ”
90 Points – Robert Parker

Orin Swift Machete 2015 (New Release) : Napa Valley
Blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Grenache – a brooding hue and viscous consistency, powerful aromas of crème de cassis, boysenberry, and ripe cherries are complemented by a soft minerality and hints of dark chocolate. The entry is smooth with dark plums and a charred meatiness that floods to create a velvety texture that lingers.
